Recent studies have suggested that individuals who have taken the popular gastrointestinal drug Reglan may suffer serious side effects that may be confused with the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Persons who have taken Reglan have reported serious health problems including “tardive dyskinesia” a serious movement disorder that has been linked to dopamine and the brain.
Medical professionals suggest that individuals suffering from Reglan side effects may mistakenly believe they are suffering from Parkinson’s disease, since both health issues affect the brain and movement. Persons suffering from serious movement disorders should be careful to mention any and all medication they are taking to their doctor during diagnosis.

Following recent news about the dismissal of charges against the drug companies Wyeth and Schwartz in recent Reglan lawsuits, a judge ruled that the lawsuits can proceed against Pliva, Inc. and six unnamed generic drug manufacturers.
Persons who have taken generic versions of the gastrointestinal drug have reported symptoms indicating a neurological disorder called “tardive dyskinesia”, that can cause unintentional motion of the limbs, blinking, chewing, and other uncontrolled movements.
If you or someone you love has suffered negative health effects as a result of taking a generic form of Reglan, contact the Reglan lawsuit attorneys of Williams Kherkher at 800-761-3187 today.

A U.S. District Court in West Virginia has recently ruled that Wyeth and Schwarz Pharmaceuticals can not be responsible after an individual suffered from the side effects of a generic version of Reglan. The ruling stated that because Wyeth and Schwarz did not manufacture the drug in question, they can not be held responsible for the side effects that individuals suffered from generic versions.

A woman in Florida says her son’s twitch is due to his use of the prescription drug Reglan.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said “when he was little, he was put on Reglan because he has a lot of acid reflux problems… Now he is seven. He does these things where he’ll put his hands up and twitch them. Doctors tell us that it is normal and he’ll grow out of it but I’ve never seen this before. When he gets excited, he makes these grimacing faces that I’ve never seen a child make.”
In February 2009 the United States Food and Drug Administration ordered the makers of Reglan to place a black label warning on the drug. Studies have shown that the gastro-esophageal reflux medicine is linked to Dyskinesia, involuntary movement of the limbs.
