The New Jersey Supreme Court has ordered that all Reglan lawsuits filed throughout the state will be centralized for case management purposes before one judge.
According to court documents, after a petition to centralize Reglan litigation was filed in March the Court determined that Reglan cases should be assigned to Superior Court Judge Carol E. Higbee, who has experience dealing with complex litigation involving pharmaceutical claims. The litigation, however, will not be given a mass torts designation, meaning they will not be considered for pretrial litigation and each case will individually.
All of the Reglan lawsuits in the state involve similar allegations that the drug’s manufacturers failed to adequately warn about the risk of tardive dyskinesia, a serious movement disorder, from Reglan.
