Reglan’s main ingredient, a drug called metoclopramide, normally works to stimulate the upper digestive tract. This enhances the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal system so that you can digest your food faster. Thus, your stomach acid will not spill into your esophagus and cause heartburn.
